Miracles Happen

"I was delivered to Texas NeuroRehab Center by ambulance after a very long and on-going illness.  I was unable to lift my head or arms let alone walk.  My long muscles were goine and my finer muscles were deteriorationg rapidly. 

I was afraid I was bound for a nursing home or acute care facility.  The concept of going home seemed incomprehensible.  To say I was scared is an understatement.  When Dr. Chip Whisenant met me on my first day and told me we start working on getting you ready for discharge starting right now I thought he was speaking the impossible. 

Well, last week I WALKED out of Texas NeuroRehab under my own power and came home.  I feel better than I have in 5 or more years and I am very much looking forward to my future prospects. 

There were so many people who touched my life and my heart while I was there; people who I owe a level of gratitude and thanks that words cannot express.  Every person I encountered at TNC was a consummate professional that clearly loved what they were doing.

 Positive Change

"We will never forget this entire experience and the individuals who eased our minds, we knew he was safe, a level of trust was established immediately.  UT Charter far exceeded our expectations based on our experiences with our district.  It was surprising to find teachers and management staff who worked together so closely to ensure all educational needs of a child, with a disability or mental illness, are met.  The teachers were knowledgeable, eager to provide information, and good listeners.  The transitions throughout the day between teachers was pure genius! 

The support staff maintained continuity, seamlessly followed the teacher's lead but at the same time had the expertise to take independent initiative.  We are eternally grateful for the tireless effort that has been invested.  You have forever changed the path of a child who has been misunderstood.  The positive changes in his life during this educational journey will impact our family for years to come.

 Thank You

"I want to thank everyone there that helped me with my recovery. I was diagnosed with TBI and partial paralysis. I was a patient there back in March for about 2 months. I was told I would never walk again, or do what I use to do and would be there for at least 6 months.

I am in the Army and with everyone’s help I was able to go back to work and in November of this year, about 6 months later, I got cleared by the doctors to deploy to Iraq with my soldiers and continue my current career in the Army.   Exceptional

"The staff here was exceptional both in the level of care offered and the patience and empathy given.  The PT staff were great and the OT staff members 'sunshine' attitude is contagious.  The nurses were wonderful, so kind and gentle even with the most trying of patients.
