Jason Foundation at Texas NeuroRehab Center
Texas NeuroRehab Center is proud to have partnered with the Jason Foundation Inc
(JFI) to educate our society about preventing suicides among our youth. TNC’s Jason Foundation office provides a helpline as well as free
educational seminars to teachers, parents, and students in
and around Austin.
Suicide IS preventable. Awareness and education are the
key ingredients to prevent the “Silent Epidemic” of youth
suicide. It is silent because the world does not hear that
Youth Suicide (among 15-24 year olds) is the 3rd leading
cause of death.

“A Promise for Tomorrow” – School Based Curriculum
This is a school based curriculum unit designed for grades 7 through 12. It is a unit
of study about the awareness and prevention of youth suicide presented so that
teens learn how to help a friend in need. Youth learn the magnitude of the
problem, signs of concern and what to do if a friend ever confides that they are
thinking of suicide. The students are given tools and resources to help their
friend. The program can be incorporated into currently mandated programs such
